MAY 1987

From 4^th to 8^th May 1987, within a COURSE ON INTRODUCTION TO AUTOMATION IN ATC , given at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation Training Center in Madrid, D. Diez made the following presentations:

1. Introduction to Data Processing;
2. Flight Plan Data Processing Systems (FDPSs); and
3. Advanced Aeronautical Systems:

• Global Positioning System (GPS); and
• PRODAT/PROSAT data link communications system via satellite.

JUNE 1990

On 20^th June 1990 at the General Directorate of Civil Aviation Headquarters in Madrid, D. Diez made the following presentation:

1.  Satellite communications between fixed stations

The main purpose of the presentation was to explain the use of satellite fixed links to:

a)      Upgrade the radar data distribution system to connect remote radar sites to ATC units; and

b)      Provide cost efficient voice links between remote VHF stations and ATC units.
